i just want to go over a couple of topics on my mind and see what you guys all think about it.
i've noticed recently the new change in the blood doctrine and, to me, i interpreted this as the society's way of finally acknowledging the fact that the teaching is too difficult to maintain.
this is like putting a small crack in a submarine so that the water doesn't come rushing in causing people to panic, but with time the ship will still sink.

1. Leave the org. Fade away, DA., whatever works for you. You have already seen how the org works, no matter how much you do, it will never be enough. They will take and take and take, and will give nothing back in return. edited to add: ok, I missed your post where you mentioned you did not want to leave the org, because you thought they had the only accurate teachings about the Bible. Let me guess, you were raised as a JW, so of course as far as you know, they are the most accurate religion, they have pounded that idea into your head your whole life. Do your own research, you will soon see their brand of "truth" is no better than any other, and oftentimes is worse. Besides, your experience with your Bethel overseer should demonstrate the disconnect betweeen what they preach and what they actually do. They talk the talk, but they don't walk the walk.
2. Decide what you want to do with your life. You mention training/education, so perhaps you should look at your options for furthering your education re a career field that interests you and that you may have some background in already(you mentioned some health care work you did at Bethel).
3. Enjoy your freedom.

here is yet another update on what is going on in my world.
the elder i talked to a while back just couldn't let it be and now want's to have another discussion.
he now wants to meet with with another elder from the hall.
It all depends on what your goal is.
If you want to be DF'd meet with them and tell them everything, Or just DA and get it over with.
If you want to fade, you need to keep your thoughts to yourself. Talking to one elder is risky, meeting with two is a recipe for disaster.
If you are trying to fade, there is no point in you talking to an elder. He is only there to get you back in line, not to listen to your concerns and debate you.
If you are forced into a meeting with them, you need to go into full 'theocratic warfare' mode. This is not a time to be honest, to voice your doubts in the hopes that they will see that your concerns are valid and will treat you mercifully, to think that somehow you can reason with them and sway them to your point of view. Instead, you need to humbly sit there, nod appreciatively, thank them for their 'concern' and vow to take their 'encouragement' to heart. Then show up for a couple meetings, smile a lot, let them think they did their job. Then go back to the fade.
So what do you really want?

I think your thread title is intentionally misleading... it implies that somehow the entire religion or the WTB&TS is facing charges.

napa wt child abuse case.
two important court decisions, which came out of napa valley, ca, are now available for us to post on jwd.
these significant rulings overturn objections regularly made by the watchtower in recent lawsuits and may serve as a precedent for future lawsuits.
Jourles, thanks for posting that little gem, very enlightening.
Nice how the Watchtower can simply dictate to the congregations, "add this to your corporate charter"!
However, it still does not demonstrate that the Halls are owned by the Society. Just the opposite, since then this whole letter would be moot. And although it indicates that the assets would go to the Society, this would only be after the "the winding up and dissolution" of the corporation.
Incidentally, for those that don't know: This wording was added after some congregation in TX en masse left the WT, and took the Kingdom Hall (which the congregation paid for) with them.
I have heard about that incident, but even in a case like that, I don't think the wording here would help the Society. They could dissolve the congregation, but if the entire "corporation" decides to break away, and the Hall is paid for, well, too bad for the Tower.
No, their strategy to prevent this from happening again seems to be, keep the Kingdom Halls constantly mortgaged to the Society. Thats why perfectly good Halls are either sold and replaced with a new building, or subjected to expensive remodeling projects.
